Lola Pickford

lola pickford, yogajala writer

Lola is a content writer based in London. She’s also an Ayurveda practitioner and a budding yogi, as well as a mental health advocate, environmentalist, adventurer, animal lover, foodie and caring friend.

Suffering with asthma and eczema since childhood opened Lola’s eyes to the world of alternative medicine and more preventative approaches to health. She recently completed an Ayurvedic Principles and Anatomy course with Arhanta Yoga and was particularly drawn to Dosha and Chakra work. She looks forward to seeing her where her Ayurveda journey will take her next.

Yoga has also been a recurring theme in Lola’s life. As a former artistic gymnast, her first encounter with yoga was a means to an end – to push the limits of her flexibility and fitness. Now, however, she has come to love the balance that yoga brings to her life. In times of joy, she finds her practice an invaluable opportunity to slow down and move with intention and gratitude. In times of stress, her practice allows her to ground herself, reconnect with her body and look at the world through a fresh pair of eyes.

Lola has a keen interest in all things environment and is currently studying for her Masters Diploma in ‘Environment, Politics and Society’ in London. Now more than ever, her yoga comes in handy as a tool to stay present and not sweat the small stuff.
